I plan to win the $1,000 up for grabs at the Fiji Showcase for the Fiji Showcase FM96 Tekken Down with Vodafone.
Those were the words of Craig Ricardo, the first competitor to qualify from the eliminations held today at the home of FM96 at 231 Waimanu Road.
Ricardo says he heard about the FM96 Tekken Down from a friend on facebook, but he is also part of a Viber community of Tekken players in Fiji who regularly compete against each other online.
The 23-year-old says he started playing Tekken 4 years ago and has never looked back since, going on to win a few local tournaments held around the Suva area over the past 2 years.
The 4th year Marine Science student at USP says his main is Jun Kazama.

Ricardo breezed through his 3 qualifying matches today and will be concentrating on getting more game time leading up to the Fiji Showcase which will be held from 19th to 27th June at the Vodafone Arena, Suva.
He commended FM96 on the competition saying this is a really good event to host because people can just come and unwind and have fun.
FM96 Crackfast host and Tekken wrangler, Tifa Vataiki says they were pretty happy with the turnout today as they had closed the registration last week.
Vataiki says for those that have qualified, this is the time to brush up on those skills with two weeks to go till Fiji Showcase 2026.
