President Jioji Konrote issues Writ Of Elections

President Jioji Konrote issued the Writ Of Elections to the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Suresh Chandra this morning at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

Fiji will have general elections on Wednesday November 14th, 2018.

While issuing the Writ, Konrote says that the registration of voters for the 2018 general elections will stop at 6 this evening.

Konrote says that the Electoral Commission must receive the nomination of candidates at the Fijian Elections Office in Suva, by 12pm on the 15th of this month.

The President has commanded the Commission to return the Writ on or before the 28th of November with endorsed names of candidates elected as Members of Parliament.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Jiko Luveni, political party officials, Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho, RFMF Commander, Viliame Naupoto and members of the Multi National Observer Group amongst other dignitaries were present at the function this morning.
