The Permanent Secretary of Employment Maritino Nemani is not in police custody and allegations of an assault on a Ministry employee is false.
This follows an incident where the staff and the Minister were involved in a heated exchange in front of the Ministry staff and media, following an event this morning.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Nemani confirms he had asked police to escort the staff out of the premises.
He says it has been sorted out internally.
Nemani says he will be recommending the staff to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Nemani also confirms no report has been lodged by either the Permanent Secretary or the staff involved.
Earlier this morning, Nemani had questioned the staff in front of media for talking to a member of the media.
A fijivillage journalist says the exchange had become heated, with the Permanent Secretary escorting the staff away from everyone.
