Ponipate Loganimasi has signed with Sale Sharks on a two-year deal until 2027.
Loganimasi will join Alex Sanderson’s squad from the Fijian Drua.
Originally a Sevens player, he won silver at the 2024 Olympic Games in France before switching to the 15-a-side game.
He made an impressive international debut in September 2024, scoring two tries in the Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan, and has since won a further seven caps.
At club level, he made his debut for the Drua last season and went on to score six tries in 12 games.
Loganimasi says he is excited about joining Sale, adding that it will be his first time outside Fiji, and he is looking forward to playing in a new competition to learn and develop his game.
He says he is excited to make the move and that his family is also looking forward to the new experience.
Sharks Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson says Loganimasi is the very definition of a Flying Fijian.
He describes him as a dangerous runner with the ability, whether with the ball in hand or in the air, to be a massive threat.
He says his key asset is his speed and his desire to have the ball in his hands, which fits with the way Sale want to evolve their attacking game, as they aim to play and attack more, particularly in transition.
Sanderson adds that Loganimasi is a great player with a young family and says he believes he will be a great fit for the club.
