The Vodafone Fiji 7s second string side has sent a strong statement to the New Zealand, Australia and Samoa 7's side after thumping Tahiti 64-0 and Solomon Islands 36-0 in their pool game in the Oceania 7s Tournament.

Fiji will now face Cook Islands at 6pm in their last pool game.

Looking at other results, American Samoa drew 12-0 with PNG, New Zealand thrashed Niue 57-7 while Cook Islands beat Solomon Islands 21-5, Australia beat Tonga 21-0, Samoa thumped New Caledonia 30-7, American Samoa beat Niue 15-10, New Zealand thrashed PNG 48-0 while Cook Islands beat 26-5.

Meanwhile, the Telecom Fijiana Sevens team also won their first game after thumping Papua New Guinea 38-0 but lost to Australia 24-5.

The Elimination rounds and the finals will be played tomorrow.
