The Labasa soccer team has beaten Ba 2-1 in their Vodafone Premier League match at Subrail Park earlier this afternoon.

Edwin Shayam scored the winning goal for Labasa in the dying minutes of the game.

Ba had Meli Codro sent off in the later stages of the first half while Ba goalkeeper Josaia Ratu was red carded in the dying moments of the second half.

Ba had taken the lead in the first half through Samuela Nabenia after his powerful shot found the back of the net in the 22nd minute.

In the second half, Labasa equalized in the 38th minute when Ba defender Laisenia Raura scored an own goal before Shayam scored the winner.

Shayam says despite the ground conditions he is happy to have beaten Ba.
