Communications Fiji Foundation hands over $176,827 to WOWS Kids Fiji

The Communications Fiji Foundation has handed over a cheque of $176,827.51 to the Walk On Walk Strong Kids Fiji this morning following a successful Charity Walk and donation drive.

The money was raised with the support of listeners and friends of Communications Fiji Limited from around Fiji and the world, who pitched in to make a difference and help save the lives of young children living with cancer, culminating in a Charity Walk from Nausori to the home of Communications Fiji Limited at 231 Waimanu Road in Suva.

CFL General Manager Charles Taylor says the appeal was done a couple of weeks ago, but they kept it open so that people from around the world could take part in donating to this very worthy cause.

Taylor says the last time CFL and WOWS Kids Fiji did something like this was back in 2012, when WOWS were just starting as an organisation, so they were happy to help.

In an earlier interview, Taylor says CFL, the parent company of fijivillage, LegendFM, FM96, Navtarang, Radio Sargam, and VITIFM, has supported WOWS Kids Fiji in the past and to date has been the biggest donor.

WOWS Kids Fiji co-founder, Sina Kami says they are very thankful to the CFL management team and staff, the Communications Fiji Foundation, and the people of Fiji for stepping up again and doing this to support children living with cancer in Fiji.

Kami says they just want to say thank you to those who supported and joined the walk.

She says coming out and fundraising at this time is not easy because of what is going on around the world.

CFL Team Lead, Satya Nand thanked all those who contributed to the appeal as well as those who turned up for the walk.
