More support is expected for patients and families affected by cancer across Fiji following a new $25,000 partnership aimed at strengthening community support and early detection efforts.
The partnership was officially announced between Jack's of Fiji and the Fiji Cancer Society.
Speaking during the event, Jack’s of Fiji Corporate Social Responsibility Chairman Ronald Reddy says the partnership is not only about presenting a cheque or signing an agreement, but about supporting people and families whose lives are affected by cancer every day.
He says the initiative aims to strengthen awareness, support prevention efforts and offer hope to those in need.
Reddy highlights that businesses have an important role to play beyond commercial success by actively contributing towards the wellbeing of communities.
Fiji Cancer Society says Cancer continues to affect many families throughout Fiji, with awareness and early detection remaining key factors in improving health outcomes.
They say through the partnership, Jack’s of Fiji will support the Fiji Cancer Society’s nationwide work in cancer education, prevention awareness and initiatives focusing particularly on women’s health and cervical cancer awareness.
The company will also provide discount vouchers to encourage more people to participate in health screening and medical check-up programmes facilitated through the Fiji Cancer Society.
The initiative is expected to promote greater awareness on the importance of regular health checks and early detection.
The Fiji Cancer Society acknowledges the partnership and its continued commitment towards patient advocacy, community outreach and supporting individuals and families affected by cancer across the country.
