Tailevu Zone Blue Ribbon champion Timoci Bolakoro

Tailevu Zone Blue Ribbon champion Timoci Bolakoro is one of the front-runners gunning to win the 100 meters senior boys final in the Coca‑Cola Games this year.

The Queen Victoria School student showed he has what it takes to be among the best when he ran in the Tailevu Zone with a manual time of 11.35 seconds while his latest time is 11.14 seconds which he clocked in the Easter Games.

Bolakoro believes he will have to work on his start and will have to familiarize himself with the starting blocks.

The Year 13 student also won the Senior Boys 200 meters final in the Coca-Cola Tailevu Athletics Zone.

Bolakoro is from Tonia village in Tailevu.

His personal best in the 100 metres is 10.70 seconds which puts him as the top contender for the Blue Ribbon event.

Meanwhile, other strong contenders that he will face in the senior boys 100 meters will be Shane Tuvusa of Natabua High School who has a personal best of 11.22 seconds, Tony Lemeki of Marist Brothers High School with a time of 11.20 seconds and Malasebe Tuvusa of Suva Grammar School.

Banuve Tabakaucoro currently holds the 100 metres record for the senior boys with a time of 10.43 seconds which was set in 2011.

The Coca‑Cola Games will be held at the ANZ Stadium from the 19th  to the 21st of this month.
