A man has sprinted into the flames at the Burning Man festival in the US, horrifying onlookers and security who tried to stop him.
Fire rescue officers chased him as they tried to stop him from entering the inferno at Burning Man festival yesterday but were unable to do so.
The unnamed man was transported to an onsite medical facility and then later flown to a Burn Treatment Centre.
The local media reports that the man died at the Burn Treatment Centre.
The arts and music festival features the burning of a giant wooden sculpture each year, with the humanoid structure reaching approximately 50 feet into the air.
