The Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus Festival has been launched by Miss Hibiscus 1982 and Assistant Minister for Housing and Local Government, Lorna Eden.

The theme for Fiji's 62nd Hibiscus festival is Reduce, Re‑use, Recycle, Refuse and Re‑purpose.

This year for the first time, the mother of all festivals, will be held outside of Suva.

Eden says she has no doubt that Valelevu Grounds as the choice for this year's venue for the festival is a wise one.

She says, as announced in the 2018‑2019 National budget, the Government will be providing compost bins to communities in Nasinu as the Pilot Town for this project.

Eden says the government will also be increasing skip bin services throughout the country.

There are 12 contestants taking part in the Hibiscus festival this year.

The Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus festival will start from the 10th of this month.
