A new chapter of student leadership has begun at Saint Francis College in Navunibitu, Ra, following the induction of its prefect body.

The ceremony recognised a group of committed students entrusted with key responsibilities, including the Head Prefects and their deputies, who now assume the highest level of student leadership within the school.

Leading the prefect body this year are Head Boy Ravu Severo and Head Girl Toroua Asena, supported by Deputy Head Boy Liuvalivali Jope and Deputy Head Girl Tanuku Elenoa.

President of the Shree Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji Dhirendra Nand says leadership is not about position, but about responsibility and service.

Nand stresses that prefects must lead by example, uphold discipline and remain committed to academic excellence, especially as the school builds on last year’s 100 percent pass rate.

He emphasises that maintaining high standards requires unity, focus and strong moral values, adding that student leaders play a crucial role in shaping the culture of the school.

Nand says the newly inducted senior leaders now carry the responsibility of guiding their peers while balancing their own academic commitments.

He says the support of teachers and the wider school community, the new prefect body begins its tenure determined to uphold the standard of excellence set by the school.
