Hundreds of people turned up this morning for the Walk On Walk Strong Kids International Childhood Cancer Day Fun Walk at Albert Park.
WOWS Kids Fiji co-founder, Sina Kami, while sharing with participants this morning, says she was asked what type of service they provide, to which she replied that any child diagnosed with cancer at the hospital they call WOWS Kids, and then their team will attend to the parents.
Kami says they drop them off, pick them up, and ensure any medicine or support that is not available at the hospital is provided by WOWS Kids Fiji, who supports them all the way.
She says, unfortunately, they have children who have been told that the hospitals cannot provide any more treatment for them and they are classified as palliative cases and at the moment, they have about six children on palliative care and last week two more came in.
The co-founder says at the moment WOWS Kids Fiji is currently supporting 59 children from all over Fiji.
She says they support children in Lautoka, in the North and also here in the Central division.

Kami says because they have seen it all from the poorest to those who are well off, that can take their child overseas, but they also have children who cannot even afford bus fare from home to the hospital and that is where the funds and donations this morning goes to.
While thanking those who turned up this morning, Kami says since 2009 they have been walking on and walking strong through the love and the support of the people of Fiji.
