The Head Boy of Nasinu Secondary School, Samuela Batikalou aims to change the norm at the school by addressing bullying and discipline issues among students.
Batikalou told fijivillage News that he will ensure senior prefects play their roles responsibly and not just wear their badges.
The 17-year-old, who hails from Lutu in Wainibuka, Naitasiri says he is committed to balancing his leadership role and his studies by doing the right thing at the right time and remaining consistent with his schoolwork.

Batikalou says his father passed away in term two last year, and watching his mother struggle to juggle the responsibilities of both parents has motivated him to keep striving for the best.
His mother, Adi Lusiana Rokotinaviti says her message to her son is to lead by example, as many social issues such as drugs are common in schools, and he must make the right decisions while holding the position of Head Boy.
Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro also urged student leaders to act with integrity, guide their peers, and maintain a safe school environment.

Radrodro reminded parents and guardians to actively monitor their children’s progress, attend school activities, and continue guiding them.
Meanwhile, Nasinu Secondary inducted 80 prefects and 40 year captains.
