ODPP yet to file information and disclosures in ferris wheel manslaughter case
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is yet to file and serve the information and disclosures in the matter where Ashneel Nath is charged in relation to the death of a woman who fell off a ferris wheel in June 2023.

This comes as during the last court appearance, the Court and Nath’s counsel raised some issues for the State to consider.

36-year-old Nath is charged with one count of manslaughter arising from an alleged breach of duty.

It is alleged that on 30th June 2023, while employed as an OHS Inspector at the Ministry of Employment, Nath failed to properly inspect a 12-seater Ferris wheel, which contributed to the death of a 20-year-old woman.
Nath’s bail has been extended.

The matter will be called again on 7th April.
