07/03/2026
The Labasa High Court has adjourned for judgement on notice in the case where two men are charged in relation to allegedly abducting and raping a 24-year-old woman last year.

One man is charged with one count of rape and one count of breach of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order, while the second man is charged with one count of giving false information to a public servant.

Both men are jointly charged with one count of abduction.

It is alleged that the first accused, in the company of the second accused, abducted a 24-year-old woman on 22nd April 2025.

The first accused, who was the victim’s ex-boyfriend, is also alleged to have raped her between 22nd April and 24th April 2025.

The two men had earlier pleaded not guilty and the matter proceeded to trial last month.

The first accused has been further remanded in custody while bail has been extended for the second accused.
