More than 200 villagers in Namuamua, Wainikoroiluva, Namosi are now benefiting from safer and easier access following the opening of a new village footpath.

The improved footpath allows quicker and more secure travel between homes, farms, and the river crossing, an essential transport point for the community.

The project, delivered under the Community Access Roads, Footpaths and Footbridges Programme, aims to improve connectivity in rural areas and will also support nearby communities in the Tikina of Wainikoroiluva.

Villagers say the new footpath has already made daily life easier because previously, the track was often muddy and slippery, making travel difficult specially for the elderly and children when going to farms, school, or the river.

The footpath was commissioned by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Mosese Bulitavu, marking a significant improvement in access for the village, particularly during wet weather.
