Ensuring children are in a safe and secure environment to learn, the Mokani Youth Club and the Mokani Rugby Club in Tailevu took the initiative to clean up the Ratu Ravuama Vunivalu Memorial School so that it is ready for classes today.

The Youth Club says their members came together to participate in the cleaning of classrooms as this is part of their giving back to the community and contribution to children's education.

Meanwhile, more than 204,000 students returned to school as the 2024 academic year started today.

Permanent Secretary for Education Selina Kuruleca urges parents and guardians to encourage their children to attend school and also set targets for their children at the start of the year.

She wishes all students and teachers a very successful academic year.
