The Fiji Year 8 Examination Provisional Results has been released today where 69 percent of the students have passed, same as last year.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro says out of the 19,007 registered students in Year 8, 18,628 sat for the exams this year.

He has also highlighted that in October this year, Cabinet has endorsed the Student Progression and Retention Policy in Fiji’s primary and secondary school system.

Radrodro is encouraging students who have not passed the Year 8 exams to consider repeat as an option and adds that this is not a setback, but an opportunity to build stronger foundations with confidence and determination before progressing further.

He has congratulated all Year 8 students for their dedication, hard work and perseverance, given the numerous challenges that they must have faced throughout their academic journey while preparing for the Fiji Year 8 Examination.

Radrodro also commended the Heads of Schools, school management, teachers, parents and guardians for their professionalism, dedication, and tireless effort in guiding learners throughout the academic year.

He says they all are equally acknowledged and sincerely appreciated for their continued support, encouragement, and vital role in the students’ success.

Radrodro has also acknowledged the 105 primary schools that achieved a 100 percent pass rate in the examination in 2025, compared to 87 schools in 2024.

The Minister further states that students who wish to apply for a recount or a remark can submit an application at the Examinations and Assessment Office at Gohil Building or at their nearest District Education Office.

The 30-day Provisional Period will allow students to apply for a recount or a remark.

He says while overall performance remained steady, several positive gains were achieved this year, including improved results for male students, better performance in rural schools, and improved achievement in a number of subjects.

The provisional results will be released online and can be accessed through the link www.examresults.gov.fj .

All Year 8 students can use their Examination Code Number and personal credentials to access their results.

However, students who do not have internet access can obtain the results from their respective schools or District Education Office.
