SODELPA Party Leader Viliame Gavoka.

SODELPA says they are closely following the events that have transpired in Honiara, Solomon Islands with great concern.

Party Leader Viliame Gavoka says they note that it is a domestic issue for the government and people of the Solomon Islands.

Gavoka however says the Party wishes to remind their fellow islanders that any attempt to destabilize the governance and affairs of the country comes at a great cost, with the common people bearing the full brunt of it.

He adds they also call on the Fijian Government to work closely with the Solomon Islands, to ensure Fijians living there are secure and safe.

Gavoka also says SODELPA acknowledges the prompt response from the Australian Government to assist the Solomon Islands Government under the 2017 Bilateral Security Treaty.

He further says it is their hope and prayer that the government of the day and its people will be able to reach a common ground for the good of the Solomon Islands and the greater Pasifika region.
