Expect a wet and windy Diwali as a strong wind warning is in force and persistent localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
This is for the coastal land areas of the eastern half of Viti Levu from the coastal areas of Sigatoka through Navua up to Korovou, extending to Rakiraki, the eastern half of Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, and the eastern parts of Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain lies to the north of Fiji and continues to drift south.
It is expected to affect the Fiji group for the next few days.
They say this is also for the eastern half of Vanua Levu from southern Bua through Wailevu-Savusavu-Nakobo-Buca Bay up to Tunuloa including nearby smaller islands, Yasawa group, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
