Fijiana suffers second heavy loss in Dubai 7s after going down 42-7 to Australia

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side suffered their second heavy loss on day 1 of the HSBC Dubai 7s after going down 42-7 to Australia in their second pool match tonight.

Australia’s Madison Levi was the toast of her team after scoring 4 converted tries in the match.

Australia took an early 14-0 lead in the first 3 minutes of the game after Levi scored two converted tries before Fiji responded with a converted try to Vika Nakacia in the 4th minute to trail 14-7.

Levi scored her third try in the 7th minute of the match to give Australia a 21-7 lead at the break.

Australia took their game to the next level in the second half as they scored a further three converted tries through Demi Hayes, Teagan Levi and Madison Levi for the win.

The loss has seen the Fijiana sitting at the bottom of Pool A after 2 matches.

Fijiana’s final pool match will be against China at 1.13am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fiji Men’s 7s side will take on the USA at 9.52 tonight in their second pool match before playing NZ at 3.16am tomorrow in their final pool match.
