Fiji 7s legend and two-time Olympic gold medallist Jerry Tuwai

Fiji 7s legend and two-time Olympic gold medallist Jerry Tuwai never doubted himself and believed that he would make his third Olympics appearance for Team Fiji and he worked hard towards making it happen.

While speaking from the Paris Olympics Games Village, Tuwai says though he did not get to play in most of the tournaments in the 2023/2024 HSBC SVNS World Series, he did not give up on his third Olympics appearance dream, he trusted God and at the same time put in the hard work.

When asked if he is confident about grabbing a third Olympic gold medal, Tuwai says nothing is impossible.

He says they have a good team, good management and the bond within the team is so strong, and most importantly they trust in God.

Fiji will face Uruguay at 3am Thursday in their first match, they will then take on the USA at 6.30am on the same day, before playing hosts France at 1.30am Friday in their final pool match.

The Men’s quarter finals will kick off at 7am Friday. The semi finals will kick off at 1.30am Sunday, and the final will be at 5.45am Sunday.
