Residents of Sakoca are frustrated about the constant disruption to their water supply as some parts of Nasinu, Tamavua, Namadi, Tacirua, Colo-i-Suva and Sawani will be experiencing water disruptions until further notice.

Sakoca resident Veer Kumar says for three days in a week they can be experiencing this problem.

Kumar says almost every time they contact the Water Authority of Fiji the response is that they have low reservoir levels.

Another Sakoca resident Mohammed Iqbal Hussein says they have not had water from last Friday until today and it has been a struggle.

Meanwhile, the Tacirua, Dokanaisuva, Nagatugatu and Colo-i-Suva Reservoirs are experiencing low production levels.

The Water Authority of Fiji says people in the affected areas should store sufficient amount of water and use water wisely during this period.

The affected areas are Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Heights, Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji Street, Amputch Street, Princes Road, Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement, Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, Marshall Road, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa and Naitaqiri Nillgrey.

They say people living in the listed areas will experience disruptions from now until further notice.

The Water Authority of Fiji says they will be providing carting trucks when requested and in case of an emergency, people can call 1507 .

WAF further says they sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and seek people’s understanding and patience until such time supply normalises.
