There was an illegal meeting in Nausori to unconstitutionally oust me and the SODELPA Leader - Duru

SODELPA General Secretary Lenaitasi Duru.

SODELPA General Secretary Lenaitasi Duru says they have received information that there was a meeting scheduled today at Nausori Village called by the four-dissent group of the party’s Working Committee and a few board members to conduct an illegal Special Board Meeting.

Duru says the purpose of this meeting is to solely unconstitutionally oust him and Party Leader Viliame Gavoka.

He says this meeting was arranged and financed by certain rogue members including sitting Members of the Parliament, two members of the Working Committee and two board members.

Duru says these members went to Nausori Village under the Vanua of Kubuna, in disguise that the Party President has organized the meeting.

He says SODELPA has taken the proactive steps to report with the Registrar of Political Parties and Police that the party is not caught up in the infringement of the laws of the country.

The SODELPA General Secretary says they do not want to harm the Vanua of Kubuna as the chiefly household of Nausori is closely connected to the Party President’s household and they felt obligated to expose this illegality before it creates harm to the Vanua and their loyal supporters.

He adds they are also being informed that there is economic interest towards the push of this meeting from these members hence compromising the values and principles of the party in protecting the Vanua and their statehood. Duru says they will surely get to the bottom of this “behind the scenes” players in the coming days who are instigating and sponsoring this rebellious attitude in the party.
