Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew

Police have rejected claims in New Zealand's 1News report that about a tonne of methamphetamine seized in Nadi earlier this year, is missing.

When questioned by fijivillage News, Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew says he wants to assure members of the public that the drugs are kept in a secure location and under tight security.

We had asked Chew yesterday whether the 4 tonnes of meth was safely kept and have there been any issues of theft.

He stresses there has been no theft of the drugs.

Chew says the necessary processes for its destruction are being handled by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and they await further guidance and directive in that regard.
