This comment was made by Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad when asked about the checks and balances in place in relation to making sure the funds given by Australia for the rehabilitation of schools is used in the right way.
The Australian government has provided an additional AUD 10 million for the rehabilitation of 9 schools.
Professor Prasad says the design team has also put in significant consideration into climate proofing this new critical infrastructure as some may also be used as community evacuation centres in the event of future natural disasters.
