Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew

Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew has assured the public that the Fiji Police Force is not entirely corrupt - nor are all officers unprofessional.

Chew says they have been labelled corrupt, unprofessional, unethical and dishonest and admits that the actions of a few has generated that perception.

He says he wants to reaffirm their collective commitment to cleaning up the organization, guided strictly by the law.

The Acting Commissioner adds that he will not deny that the labels have been demoralizing - as the actions of a few do not fairly portray the organization as a whole.

Chew says as an organization, they too have gone through turbulent times that have unduly influenced policing roles to a certain degree.

He says much has been said about righting the wrongs of the past, and as an organization, they too have found themselves in the same predicament and are going through a transformation and transition period as part of their commitment to restoring the Blue culture.

He further says it’s a process that will take time, and they are committed to restoring confidence in the policing profession.

The Acting Commissioner stresses that this will be done according to the law.
