As part of their social responsibility, the Suva Retailers Association has donated about 30,000 face masks and 240 bottles of hand sanitizers which are worth $15,000 to the Ministry of Education today. Minister for Education, Premila Kumar says the masks and hand sanitizers will be distributed in rural schools within Viti Levu.

She says students will be given masks when they have damaged their masks or their masks have been worn out.

The President of the Suva Retailers Association, Jitesh Patel says during this pandemic, it is very important that students wear masks to minimise the spread of COVID-19.

Patel also pledged the distribution of 3,000 posters with COVID safe messages when primary schools reopen.
