Taxi driver charged for carrying excess passengers

A taxi driver in Lautoka has been charged for carrying excess passengers which is a breach of the Ministry of Health’s Guidelines for Public Service Vehicles.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says 8 people have been arrested over the last 24 hours for the breach of health restrictions and curfew orders.

Tudravu says a 31-year-old man was found drunk along the Saru Back Road while a 20-year-old man was found loitering along Link Road, Lautoka.

He adds 3 men were arrested along Kanace Road as they were returning from a grog session in Nadera while two men were found loitering in Kinoya.
