Police confirm all Parliamentarians that were taken in earlier are still under investigation

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed that all Parliamentarians who were taken in for questioning are still under investigation.

SODELPA MPs Lynda Tabuya and Niko Nawaikula along with NFP President Pio Tikoduadua were once again taken in for questioning by the Criminal Investigations Department this morning.

This is in relation to their statements on the Bill to amend the iTaukei Land Trust Act last week.

The Bill was passed in Parliament yesterday.

Professor Biman Prasad, Viliame Gavoka, Ro Filipe Tuisawau, Sitiveni Rabuka, Savenaca Narube and Mahendra Chaudhry were also questioned in line with Section 15(a) of the Public Order Act 1969 this past week.

Tudravu has said that they will be questioning other people not for the purpose of intimidation as claimed by some, but as a proactive means to find the truth.

No one has been charged so far.
