Chief Justice Kamal Kumar has today ordered a further interim stay of the Russian superyacht Amadea.

This means Amadea will stay in Fiji until Chief Justice Kumar rules on the stay application on Tuesday.

Stay in proceedings in the case of Amadea will hurt Fiji’s reputation - Pryde

A stay in proceedings in the case of Russian superyacht Amadea will hurt Fiji’s reputation.

This was stated by the Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde in the Supreme Court of Fiji before Chief Justice Kamal Kumar.

The lawyer for Amadea, Feizal Haniff has filed an application for an interim stay and a stay order against the High Court's decision to register a warrant that was filed by the DPP for the US to seize the superyacht.

Haniff says there is no way of knowing what the US intends to do with the yacht.
