All schools will be closed tomorrow, with the Fiji Meteorological Office escalating Tropical Cyclone Vaianu to Category 2.

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro says that in the interest of public safety, the Ministry in consultation with the NDMO is advising that all schools are to remain closed tomorrow and tertiary institutions are urged to make the necessary call as deemed fit.

He says all students including boarders are to remain at home, and the situation will be closely monitored, with further advice to be issued accordingly.
Radrodro is urging parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and ensure no one attempts to cross flooded creeks, rivers and drains.

He says children are not to swim in rivers, creeks or the sea during this period, and is urging them to read books or do school revisions during this period.
