The Queensland Reds Women gave the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s team a run for their money in the Lautoka heat beating them 22-19.

The Drua made a lot of handling errors in the first half which the Reds capitalised on by scoring two converted tries and a penalty.

The Reds led 17-0 at half-time.

The Reds scored first in the second half extending their lead to 22-0.

Loraini Senivutu finally scored for the Drua bringing them up to 5-22.

Karalaini Naisewa scored the Drua's second try which was easily converted bringing them up to 12-22.

A yellow card was shown to the Reds for a deliberate knock-down of the ball.

The Drua were able to milk a penalty try from the Reds after they collapsed a maul bringing them closer to the Reds with 19-22.

A last minute gasp from the Drua couldn't help them get back into the game as time ran out and they were still deep in their own half.

The Drua Women play the Brumbies Women at 3.35pm next Saturday at Churchill Park Lautoka.
