The National Disaster Risk Management Office is urging members to take precautionary measures in light of the weather we are experiencing.
They are advising the public to tie down or safely store any loose items around their homes that could be blown away by strong winds.
The Office says tree branches near homes should be trimmed to prevent damage and avoid travelling unless necessary.
They remind the public not to attempt to cross flooded roads, rivers or bridges.
Sea travel should be avoided, particularly in areas where gale or strong wind warnings are in effect.
If you live in a flood-prone area, move to higher ground early.
They are also urging people to ensure they have stored enough clean drinking water for their household and listen and strictly adhere to any advisory issued by the relevant authorities.
They are urging everyone to ensure that children, the elderly and persons with disabilities in their household or neighbourhood are safe, supported, and accounted for.
