Nasinu Secondary School’s Under-17 team has booked a semi-final spot in the Southern Zone Vodafone Deans competition after defeating Naitasiri Secondary School 17-15 in the quarter-final.

While speaking to fijivillage Sports, head coach Semesa Matai says Naitasiri gave a strong performance, as reflected in the close scoreline.

Matai says a few weaknesses, such as knock-ons and defence are areas the team will need to improve before the semi-final next Saturday.

He says that they will face Marist Brothers High School next week in a match that will determine whether they qualify for the national quarter-finals.

Looking at other Under-17 results, Grammar defeated Lami High School 24-6, and Marist won by default against Sacred Heart College.
