In a bid to improve service delivery in terms of fostering financial literacy and professional collaboration, representatives from the South Pacific Stock Exchange and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants have signed a memorandum of understanding to ensure standards and procedures are adhered to.

This has been highlighted by SPX Chairman Nitin Jan Gandhi during the signing of the MOU at their office.

Gandhi says there is a lot of sustainability aspects of financial reporting and organizations are mandated to report in their annual reports.

He says the FICA will play a crucial role in assisting SPX on financial issues.

The President of the Fiji Institute of Accountants Wilika Takiveikata says one of the key enhancements of reporting financial standards is the sustainability standard.

Takiveikata says stakeholders like the Fiji National Provident Fund and other institutions must adopt these standards.

He says they have requested SPX to contact their registered companies to attend future workshops to bolster financial literacy and reporting.
