Two players with links to Fiji, Hoskins Sotutu and Jacob Kneepkens-Ratumaitavuki have been named in the Barbarians squad that will take on the Springboks in the Qatar Airways Cup clash this Sunday.
Sotutu and Ratumaitavuki both missed out on the All Blacks selection despite their impressive performances for the Blues and the Highlanders respectively in the this Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.
Some notable inclusions in the Barbarians squad are former All Blacks captain Sam Cane, Shannon Frizell, Mark Telea, and England speedster Joe Marchant.
Former Wallabies coach Robbie Deans will coach the team while All Blacks lock Sam Whitelock will be his assistant.
The Barbarians squad include Cian Healy, Will Collier, Hassane Kolingar, Paul Alo-Emille, Camille Chat, John Ricky Riccitelli, David Ribbans, Ruben van Herdeen, Josh Beehre, Hoskins Sotutu, Peter O’Mahony, Sam Cane, Shannon Frizell, Lachlan Boshier, Tawera Kerr Barlow, Santiago Arata Perrone, Melvyn Jaminet, Josh Jacomb, Peter Umaga-Jensen, Leicester Faingaʻanuku, Mark Telea, Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens, and Joe Marchant.
The Barbarians will take on the Springboks at 3.10am this Sunday at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.
