School to start for students on Jan 19th – Akbar

Minister for Education Rosy Akbar.

Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar has clarified that school will start on the 18th of this month for teachers and 19th of this month for students.

She made this comment after a misleading timetable is being circulated on social media saying schools will begin on the 25th of this month.

Akbar says the ministry has not released a timetable for this school year yet.

She says those circulating incorrect information do not realize the panic they create especially at a time when they are working hard to ensure they keep the students and parents well informed of their decisions.

Akbar adds if they are not able to complete the repair works they are doing, they will then re-think and let people know.

The Minister says they understand that schools will not be normal for communities affected by TC Yasa.

Akbar adds they will be distributing stationery when students return to school.
