Police say their investigations are ongoing regarding another case of sacrilege where some people removed the statues of Hindu Gods at the Vishnu Temple in Ellington, Rakiraki.

The incident happened earlier in the week.

Temple Committee’s member, Rajesh Nair says the whole community in Ellington is saddened and shocked by this act as their place of worship has been attacked.

He says they believe thieves were looking for money under the statues which were left on the ground.

Nair says the thieves entered the temple by making an entry in the roof and stole around $10.

Rakiraki Police Station has received a report regarding the incident.

This is the fourth case of sacrilege in a Hindu temple in as many weeks.
