Making some sacrifices has paid off for Rishikul Sanatan College student Jessica Singh after she scored 389 out of 400 in the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination last year.

While speaking to fijivillage News, the 18-year-old says she had to make sacrifices and one of them is by avoiding social media entirely and spending countless hours studying.

Singh says she had set a goal of achieving at least 390 out of 400 but fell just 1 mark short.

She says despite this, she is determined to excel this year.

Singh adds being a school prefect and a dedicated family member, she tried to balance multiple responsibilities through the support of her family and excelled as a pure science student, achieving impressive results scoring 93 in English, 99 in Mathematics, 99 in Physics, 98 in Chemistry, and 91 in Biology.

Singh says she remains optimistic and determined to excel in the Fiji Year 13 Examination this year.
