Raina Saanvi Kumar with her awards

Raina Saanvi Kumar who is the head girl of Swami Vivekananda College in Nadi is encouraging all students to follow their dreams, work hard to achieve whatever they wish for and inspire others.

After receiving her Dux award and the highest marks in all subjects, Kumar says her parents have been her biggest motivators and inspiration in her life.

The 19-year-old says she is very happy and proud of her achievements as this was something she has always aimed for.

She says she did not expect to receive all these awards as there was a lot of competition and many challenges along the way.

Kumar also received an award in public speaking, 2 awards in golf, the highest scorer in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, an award in community service, head girl appreciation and the highest scorer in the year 12 examination.

She now looks forward to pursuing her career in MBBS and becoming a doctor.

While commending the students on their achievements, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka says each award represents a story of hard work, challenges dedication and a commitment that have been found in the academic year.

Gavoka also encouraged students to aim for excellence in their academic pursuits and future careers and highlighted that the coalition government has placed the strongest commitment to the education of the children.

The Deputy Prime Minister says the students stand on the threshold of a new chapter in their lives, and they must remember that their education is a powerful tool that will open doors to a world of opportunities.
