The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that the Rip and Remake Program is ongoing along Hibiscus Highway.

Residents had raised concerns after a man had sustained minor injuries on Saturday afternoon following an accident along Hibiscus Highway.

Another passenger involved in the accident was unharmed.

While responding to our questions, FRA says the Rip and Remake Program includes Buca Bay Road, Hibiscus Highway and Naqaqa and Oneva 2 Sections.

FRA says they will commence with the sealing works as per the program.

They say for Bucabay, they are sealing roads in sections which is around 20km.

FRA says this is an ongoing activity and they have faced challenges in completing this due to the unpredictable weather conditions.

They add they remain committed in trying to completing this soon.
