Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has issued a strong directive to book anyone caught speeding, whether it's him, a police officer, government vehicle or anyone who disregards road rules.

Tudravu issued this directive to Traffic Highway Officers as he returned from the Western Division.

He says he was briefed that drivers were being booked for exceeding 100 kilometres per hour, with one driver clocking at 126 kilometres per hour before his arrival.

The Commissioner emphasised the need for consistency in law enforcement, especially in maintaining visibility and recording traffic infringements.

He reiterated that no one is above the law, and the safety of all road users remains a top priority.

67 people have lost their lives this year compared to 53 for the same period last year.
