Damodar Group of Companies CEO, Div Damodar and his ex-wife, Riddhi Damodar

Damodar Group of Companies CEO Div Damodar has today said that it is unfortunate that National Federation Party’s provisional candidate and his ex-wife, Riddhi Damodar is using the Damodar name even after their divorce in February 2016.

Div Damodar says the Damodar family and the group of companies do not have any involvement in Riddhi’s political ambition and aspirations as the company is apolitical.

We have called Riddhi Damodar many times however she is not taking our calls on this matter.

NFP Leader, Professor Biman Prasad says Riddhi using the Damodar name is a private matter and they will leave it to her to answer that question.

Meanwhile, Professor has also clarified that Riddhi Damodar is a former Indian national as she is a Fijian citizen from 2014.

He says India does not allow dual citizenship and according to him Riddhi has informed him that her Indian passport had expired years ago.

When Fijivillage contacted Riddhi, she said she did not have time to answer the question on whether she officially surrendered her Indian passport and citizenship.

Under Fiji’s constitution, candidates who only hold Fijian citizenship are eligible to contest the general elections.
