The Rewa Rugby side is aiming to qualify for the 2026 Skipper Cup competition after qualifying for the Vodafone Vanua Championship semi-finals against Navosa next tommorow.
Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Rewa Rugby Union Secretary Petero Kaveni says every provincial team playing in the Vanua is targeting to be part of the Skipper Cup, with the two final teams automatically qualifying.
He says this has been the target since the Championship started in early September. Kaveni says the message to the boys has always been the same: they should take the challenge as they come and enjoy themselves when they are on the field.
He also highlighted that preparations are underway for their semi-final clash against Navosa, and the boys are eager to represent the province. He says Navosa is a great team as they have produced some highly recognised names in rugby, but they have a goal to reach.
Kaveni says they are working on their discipline, as this was one of the areas they fell short in during their quarter-final win against Ovalau on Tuesday. He is also calling on the province of Rewa to come down in numbers and support the boys next Tuesday as they try to make it back into the Skipper Cup competition.
Rewa will take on Navosa at 1pm tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium.
In another semi final, Taveuni will face Kadavu at 3pm tomorrow.
In the Ranadi Cup semi finals tomorrow, Ba will meet Rewa at 9am and Macuata will face Tavua at 11am.
