If you are residing in lockdown areas and squatter settlements in the Central Division and in Nadi, then you can expect to receive dalo suckers (rourou planting material) from as early as tomorrow.

Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Mahendra Reddy has announced they will be distributing 50,000 dalo suckers to families in these areas.

He says targeted households will receive 10 dalo suckers.

Dr. Reddy says they do not want people to come out of their houses as they will ensure dalo suckers are dropped at the homes following strict health guidelines.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture has so far distributed 16,229 seed packs.

Dr. Reddy says this program has cost the Ministry $129,000.

People who are residing in containment areas can call the Ministry’s helpline 1523 to get the seed packs while those who are outside the containment areas can contact their nearest agricultural office.
