61-year-old Wahleys Butcher employee, Collin Sanipate While receiving the keys for his Nissan Navara

61-year-old Wahleys Butcher employee, Collin Sanipate from Rotuma says replying to what he termed as annoying promotion texts from Vodafone, has now turned out to be a fortune for him after he won a Nissan Navara Pro 4X worth $92,000 during the Vodafone Fiji Festival of the Friendly North promotion.

While receiving the keys for his car today, Sanipate said he was not expecting this surprise as he always replies to the Nissan Navara promotion texts from Vodafone just for the sake of replying.

He says it was always annoying for him to hear the new message notification sound on his phone thinking it was a personal text but it turned out to be just promotion texts so he would just send two replies out of frustration.

He says he sent 12 texts altogether and he was surprised that he was the lucky winner.

Sanipate says he has seen posters and articles about people winning big prizes like cars but he never thought that one day he will be one of them as well since he was always unlucky most of his life.

He adds this prize comes at the right time as it is nearing the festive season and with a lot of plans in place for him and his family, transportation will not be a worry now for them.
