13-year-old Ratu Simione Rarasea, who left earlier this year on a rugby scholarship to New Zealand in a bid to support his single mum and siblings, is causing havoc in the Junior School Rugby Competition in New Zealand, scoring tries for his school Te Puke.

The former Marist Brothers Primary School student, who is the eldest of four siblings, was eager to help his mum after the death of his father earlier this year. A video has emerged showing the speed, power, and skills of Rarasea running and breaking the defence line from any part of the field and scoring tries for his school in every game he played in.

Rarasea told fijivillage News that he wants to make it big on the international stage one day and represent either Fiji or New Zealand if given the chance. Rarasea says he has settled in well in NZ, and will continue to train hard and try his best to support his mum and siblings in Fiji. The Narikoso Kadavu rugger showed a similar style of play as that of his uncle, Sireli Naqelevuki, the current backline coach for the Fiji U20 team, a former Fiji 7s rep and Stormers winger.
