Marist and Suva Grammar lead boys’ and girls’ medal tallies after day 1 of Suva Zone 2 competition

Marist Brothers High School’s Penaia Ramasirai and Suva Grammar School’s Claudia David have been crowned the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 2 Blue Ribbon Champions after winning their respective 100-metre races this afternoon.

Both athletes came into their events with the fastest times in their respective heats and they did not fail to back it up in the finals.

In the sub-junior grade, Elenoa Soro of Gospel High School won the girls’ division and Kirikiti Biu of Marist won the boys’ division.

Veronica Trail of Saint Joseph’s Secondary School won the junior girls’ title while Sefanaia Ravatu of Suva Grammar School won the boys’ title.

In the intermediate grade, Sainimilo Logavatu and Jolame Suguturaga, both of Suva Grammar, won gold in the girls’ and boys’ divisions respectively.

Meanwhile, Suva Grammar School currently leads the girls’ medal tally after day 1 of the competition with 12 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze, followed by SJSS with 9 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze, while Nuku Secondary School is 3rd with 2 gold and 2 silver.

In the boys’ division, Marist leads the tally with 14 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze, Suva Grammar is second with 7 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze, while Jai Narayan College is 3rd with 1 gold.
